I had a great experience with friends at Black Forest the other week. The Hurry Up and Wait double IPA was delicious. The brewery is small but has a nice outdoor area and even had live music that Sunday afternoon. Read More

Great local brewery! Easily one of the best hot spots in town. The craft beer has wonderful flavors from sours, fruity, hoppy, and wheat. The atmosphere is warm and fun. The service is great as well as the staff. The food menu is smaller but the taste makes up for it. Great place to hang out with friends or a date night. Check this place out! Cheers! Read More

I loved the food, beer, and relaxed atmosphere. We enjoy coming as a family to participate in their many community events and to enjoy a conversation. Perfect place to unwind after a long week. The decor promotes a tranquil and welcoming venue. The Black Forest Brewery signifies what it means to come into a community and make that community better. And the awesome beer doesn't hurt.

We showed up for our stay to find out we received a complimentary upgrade to one of the suites. The detail of the suite was gorgeous and was such a wonderful stay. It was hard to leave and spending time talking to the Harters the next morning after a delicious breakfast was the icing on the cake. They are delightful people with an amazing place. You won’t be disappointed. Plus the beer is good too! Read More

My wife and I spent 3 nights here while touring Dutch county. Bob and Denise are formidable hosts and have left what we know will be a lasting impression on us, thank you! Denise's homemade breakfast is all the food you'll need till supper (I'm a 250 biker looking dude). The bar for her meals starts at awesome and it goes up from there. Our room was quaint, comfortable, and very clean. The linens were amazing and we slept a solid 8 hours all 3 nights. I'm sure we'll be telling all our friends about this place for months to come. Although I don't do this review thing on the interwebs often (she's in charge of that department) I felt the need to share because it was such a perfect outing. Read More

One of the best in Lancaster County "We decided to use our bedandbreakfast.com gift card for a night's stay over Memorial weekend. WOW!! Definitely one of the nicest B&B's we've ever stayed in. My husband is not a big B&B fan but has said over and over again how much he liked this inn! We were warmly greeted by Steve and he gave us a quick tour as well. They did an excellent job at remodeling this historical home and adding modern day conveniences. Wendy has a special touch that made each room uniquely decorated. We stayed in the Traveler's Nook which is probably the smallest room but by no means short on amenities! It may be the most private room on the 2nd floor as it's located in the rear of the house and away from the other rooms. The room and bath were equipped with everything we could possibly need to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. The bed sheets were amazing! Probably the… Read More

Best Bed and Breakfast Ever! "As a birthday surprise weekend away, my ever thoughtful husband booked us to stay at the 1777 Americana Inn for a weekend of shopping and sightseeing. We enjoy staying at bed and breakfasts very much and try to experience different ones in different states as frequently as we can. So, I can say with confidence that my experience with the 1777 Americana Inn was one of sheer joy and pleasure! A great host and hostess, Steve and Wendy are the most accommodating and friendly inn keepers I have ever met! Not only did they take the time to greet us warmly, but they volunteered to give us a tour of the magnificent grounds as well as a historical lesson on the history of this grand old home. The warmth and kindness of this couple extends all the way to the very bones and soul of this magnificent old home...This has got to be THE CLEANEST Bed and breakfast I have ever… Read More

Room with a Brew! "My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the 1777 Americana Inn Bed & Breakfast and our stay could not have been more wonderful! The room (Le Boudoir) was so romantic with the beautiful antique furniture and spacious whirlpool tub! Innkeepers, Denise and Bob Harter were the most gracious hosts especially during breakfast when they took the time to help us plan out our day roaming around the Lancaster countryside. However, what really drew us to the inn was it's unique brewery (Black Forest Brewery) on site. After a wonderful day driving around Lancaster we came back, relaxed, and headed to the brewery to spend a gorgeous fall evening on their patio sipping a selection of craft beer (my husband LOVED this and I didn't think it was half bad either!) Overall, we found the room to be clean, the hosts to be very knowledgeable, and the patrons who frequent… Read More

Returning Guests, Happy to Return Again! "We've stayed here on three separate occasions, and cannot wait to make another return trip! Denise's homemade breakfasts, including egg casseroles, vanilla bean yogurt parfaits, and fresh baked goods, make a delicious start to our day. (Wish we could eat breakfast like that every day!) Denise & Bob always have great recommendations for things to do in the area if we want to explore, while making us feel just as welcome to relax in the sitting room of the Inn. We especially loved staying in Primitive Place, which had its own cozy sitting area and whirlpool tub. The bed, pillows, and linens were all incredibly comfortable. We've spent lots of quality time at their on-site brewery over the course of our trips as well. Bob makes some truly great beer, and they carry a nice selection of local wines if beer isn't your thing. We don't mind spending… Read More
